Bewabic State Park - Beautiful setting in virgin woodland on US-2 on scenic Fortune Lake chain, right next to the resort. Sandy beach, horseshoe, tennis, shuffleboard, picnic facilities, tenting and hiking trails. Pentoga Park - A spacious well-kept county park on Chi-cau-gon (Indian for "clear water") Lake. Lifeguards, shuffleboard, horseshoe, tenting, trailers, picnicking and Ojibwa Indian Tribe burial grounds. On county road 424. From resort, take US-2 west to Pentoga Trail, a scenic wooded trail winding through maples, birches and spruce to 424. Chi-cau-gon Falls - Turn right on Long Lake Road 3 1/2 miles west of Crystal Falls... a two-mile hike from end of road. Rugged and scenic. Horse Race Rapids - Six miles south of Crystal Falls on US-2, then take County Airport Road. Rugged trail and over 20 foot drop! Click here for more information. The Crystal View Golf Course is in Crystal Falls off M-69. George Young Golf Course is one mile off 424. Visitors are always welcome to both courses. Iron County Courthouse - Impressive structure on the historical register build in 1890 on the crest of the hill in Crystal Falls. Bass Festival - First Weekend in July in Crystal Falls. 5k and 10k run, community picnic, baby contest, canoe races, parade, bingo, and boxing. Waterfalls in the U.P. - The U.P. is home to all but one of Michigan’s waterfalls. There are more than 300 falls scattered across the U.P., ranging in size from under 5 feet to 48+ feet vertical drops. Almost all require hiking to reach, but there are paths (several barrier-free) to some of the most popular. The best time to see them is in spring when even the smallest falls roar to life.
